Are You Clear On Your Goals?

Categories: Goals|

We talk a lot about goals, and how they should be SMART as noted in this video.
What’s a SMART objective?
S – specific
M – measurable (so you have the ability to know whether you’ve achieved your goal or not)
A – achievable
R – relevant (to your overall plan)
T – timely (with an end date in mind)
When it comes to goals, you may have several. Think of them as something that sits under the umbrella of your overall vision or mission. You should define your personal goals first and then define your business goals to support your personal goals.
List at least 5 goals that apply to you and 5 that apply to your business that support your personal goals. And make sure they’re SMART!

Ask yourself these questions to get started:
-What do I want to achieve?
-Where?
-How?
-When?
-With whom?
-What are the conditions and limitations?
-Why do I want to reach this goal, and what are some possible alternatives in case something gets in my way?

Now breakdown the goals into smaller steps that are achievable with time frame to reach your overall goal and vision. These steps will move you closer to your goal without getting overwhelmed.
